STEP BY STEP TO HEALTH & SAFETY COMPLIANCE

STEP 9 SAFETY AUDIT

Now that you have gone through all the Steps, you have reached a stage when it is as well to have another check of how you are getting on - another Safety Audit

Go to SAFETY AUDIT SHEET, print it out, date it and use it as a checklist to identify your complianceneeds.

After you have done this print out the Managerial Checklists and have the individual concerned check their areas, and return it signed.

How did you score?

How did they score?

The answer should be yes for every question but it could be the question is not applicable in your circumstances.

By identifying the no and the don't know, you can list the things you have to do - then sort them into priorities.

To every don't know - find out if it applies and what is required.

To every no - check which need to be done immediately, which short term and which long term.

To every yes - good, but don't rest on your laurels - you will have to re-assess regularly.

This Safety Audit should be repeated regularly - at least every 6 months

Keep a record of the Safety Audit, signed and dated - this will prove that you are keeping a check on the Health & Safety.
