My name is Douglas Shearer
I live in Cupar, in the Kingdom of Fife, Scotland, UK. Cupar is about six miles from St Andrews - "the home of Golf"

I am an Agronomist and Consultant in Sports Turf Management, Pesticide Application, First Aid and Health & Safety. I give advice to many Local Authorities, Golf Courses and Sportsgrounds in Scotland .

Last year, I took early retirement from Elmwood College. I had been a lecturer in horticulture & greenkeeping for twenty four years and Head of Greenkeeping & Horticulture for the last seven years. I have been continuing to contribute to the College as a visiting lecturer over the past year.

Details of MHS-golf - including demo to download	I provide Health & Safety advice to Golf Clubs using my MHSgolf Health & Safety program Health & Safety is the responsibility of the Club Management and each of Club Secretary, Club Steward and Head Greenkeeper have their own responsibilities. A Health and Safety Consultant can advise but cannot 'do' the Health & Safety for the Club. A Health & Safety File prepared for the club without the close input of each member of management is not work the the paper it is written on and will not be appreciated by any H&S Inspector. The MHS-golf Program advises and 'handholds' allowing the member of management to take ownership of the health & safety at their club and to easily answer the questions of a H&S Inspector.
